SFO pickup guide
SFO black car pickup: which door, by terminal.
Black cars do not use the rideshare lot at SFO. Each terminal has its own designated curb, and knowing which one before you land is the difference between a waiting car and fifteen minutes on the phone.
Designated black-car curbs at SFO
These are the published pickup points we dispatch to. The door number is the meeting point on that terminal's curb.
| Terminal | Meeting point | Level |
|---|---|---|
| Terminal 1 | Door 7 | Arrivals |
| Terminal 1 | Door 8 | Arrivals |
| Terminal 2 | Door 4 | Arrivals |
| Terminal 2 | Door 5 | Arrivals |
| Terminal 3 | United signs 8–10 | Arrivals |
| International | Zones 14–17 | Departures, center island |
The International Terminal is the exception worth remembering. Black-car pickup happens on the Departures level center island, not on Arrivals. Riders who wait on the Arrivals curb there are on the wrong level.
Why black cars use a different curb
SFO separates chauffeured ground transportation from taxis and rideshare. Rideshare pickups were moved off the terminal curbs entirely into a dedicated lot, which is why an Uber at SFO means a walk and a wait. Licensed charter-party carriers operating under a CPUC TCP authority keep curbside access, but at designated doors rather than anywhere along the terminal front.
Terminal by terminal
Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 both use Arrivals-level doors — T1 at Door 7 or 8, T2 at Door 4 or 5. Which of the two depends on where your carousel sits, and the chauffeur confirms by message once bags are assigned.
Terminal 3 is United's domestic terminal. The meeting point is the Arrivals curb between the United signs marked 8 through 10 — there is no single numbered door here, the signage is the reference.
The International Terminal directs black-car pickup to the Departures level, center island, zones 14 to 17. One level up from where most arriving passengers expect to stand.
How we handle it
The flight number on your reservation is tracked, so the chauffeur is in position when you land rather than dispatched after. Sixty minutes of wait time is included, timed from actual landing, which covers immigration and baggage on international arrivals. The door is confirmed by message before you reach the curb.
Every GLS Black partner operator maintains their own active CPUC TCP authority, which is what permits curbside access at these doors. See our full SFO black car pickup.

Common questions
Before you book.
Where do black cars pick up at SFO Terminal 1?
Door 7 or Door 8 on the Arrivals level. The chauffeur confirms which of the two by message once your baggage carousel is assigned.
Where is black-car pickup at the International Terminal?
On the Departures level center island, between zones 14 and 17 — not on the Arrivals curb. This is the terminal where riders most often wait on the wrong level.
Where is the pickup point at Terminal 3?
The Arrivals curb between the United signs marked 8 through 10. There is no single numbered door at Terminal 3; the signage is the reference point.
Is black-car pickup different from Uber at SFO?
Yes. Rideshare pickups happen in a separate lot away from the terminal. Licensed black cars operating under CPUC TCP authority keep curbside access at designated terminal doors.
How long will the chauffeur wait?
Sixty minutes of airport wait time is included, timed from actual landing rather than scheduled arrival. That covers immigration and baggage on international flights.
Can the chauffeur meet me inside baggage claim?
Yes, meet-and-greet inside the terminal is available on request when the reservation is made. Otherwise the default is curbside at the designated door.
